The Paddlesport Leader is ideal for those paddlers seeking to lead multi craft journeys in a Sheltered environment. Attending the Paddlesport Safety and Rescue training is a useful prerequisite but not a requirement.

British Canoeing Paddlesport Leader Training courses are available to support you in your development of the required skills. These courses typically cover leadership skills, and the associated personal skills, safety and rescue skills. As this training is delivered by British Canoeing Paddlesport Leader Providers, they will also be able to help you identify an appropriate action plan to support your progress towards a successful assessment. This is the comprehensive option; courses are normally offered as 2-5 day programmes, with longer courses providing more time for you to practice and develop the skills.OverviewThe Paddle leader prep for assessment is an opportunity for you to tidy up any loose ends prior to presenting for your assessment, On our Paddleport leader Open water and River prep for assessment we explore briefing, leading, managing and providing safety and rescue for a group on open water and will help you develop an action plan towards assessmentDepending on where you are on your journey towards assessment you may require no support to prepare for assessment or you may wish to explore further some of the assessed areas prior to assessment. The aim of the Padlesport Leader Pre for assessment is to provide a bespoke day designed around the needs of those attending.

It is anticipate that the qualification is likely to be used by:
Leaders in clubs
Leaders for providers/centres who offer paddlesport activity
Commercial paddlesport guides
Leaders within schools, Duke of Edinburgh, youth groups, uniform groups etc.
↓ What equipment do I need to bring?
Candidates are expected to bring all personal and leadership equipment so they get to use the equipment they are most familiar with, we do a have an extensive store and equipment can be borrowed if required. If you wish to borrow equipment please contact the centre in advance to arrange.
↓ What does my course fee include?
The course fee includes lunch, in course transport and your assessor. The fee does not include NGB fees.

As you are probably aware the current advice from the Northern Ireland Executive, Health Promotion Agency NI and Health & Safety Executive NI, as well as our expert group within Sport NI is that we cannot deliver any face to face courses for our customers including use of the Hot Rock Climbing Wall.
We know that you and many others like minded folk are very keen to get back on track with your plans to attend and complete a range of personal skills training and qualifications in a range of disciplines.
