You must also ensure you have fulfilled any of the pre-requisites as indicated in the Syllabus. This includes a minimum of 20 personal quality mountain days on the hills of the UK and Ireland
Students should be reasonably fit and prepared for 5 days on the hill including an overnight camp and a number of evening sessions.

↓ Who is the course for?
Mountain Leader (ML) Award is for those who wish to lead others in the mountains, hills, and moorlands of Ireland and the UK, in summer conditions.Before attending this course you must have passed the Mountain Skills assessment (MTBI).
Tollymore can supply most of the equipment you require for this course but as an aspirant ML it is assumed you will be fairly self-sufficient in terms of kit.
↓ What does my course fee include?
The Mountain Leader Award Training Week course fee includes kit, equipment, in course transport, coaching, accommodation and catering (except for the expedition). You will need to provide your own dinner, breakfast and snacks for the 2 day overnight expedition - Tollymore will provide lunches for both days.
Course accommodation will be in shared twin ensuite rooms. If you would prefer not to share a room, single occupancy may be available for an additional charge.
As you are probably aware the current advice from the Northern Ireland Executive, Health Promotion Agency NI and Health & Safety Executive NI, as well as our expert group within Sport NI is that we cannot deliver any face to face courses for our customers including use of the Hot Rock Climbing Wall.
